Anita is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the MARCS Institute, Western Sydney University.  She is also a registered music therapist and founder of Tuned In Music Therapy.  Anita’s research to date has advanced the understanding of creative piano learning using music improvisation for healthy older adults and older adults with subjective cognitive impairment.  Outcomes show that this therapeutic music intervention mitigates cognitive decline and enhances wellbeing.   Anita is dedicated to integrating music therapy techniques into home-based and community care especially when cognitive decline is first identified and for younger adults diagnosed with dementia and their caregivers.
