Kathleen Bright

Anglicare Southern Queensland

Kathleen has dedicated her nursing career to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those living with dementia. Her journey began over two decades ago, fueled by a genuine interest in First Nations health and dementia care.

After gaining valuable experience as a Remote Nurse in Western NSW, Kathleen transitioned into the role of a Diversional Therapist. This early exposure to the challenges faced by individuals with dementia solidified her commitment to this field. Over the past decade, Kathleen has been actively involved in the not-for-profit sector, working in aged care quality and education. Her passion for dementia care has led her to pursue a Bachelor of Dementia Care, further enhancing her expertise.

Kathleen is a vocal advocate for dementia awareness and the importance of creating dementia-friendly environments. She has a deep appreciation for the dedicated aged care employees she works alongside, and she takes pride in providing specialised education and support.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Kathleen enjoys spending quality time with her family. She is a proud soccer mum to her 8-year-old son and a passionate golfer. Her love for travel and adventure keeps her spirit alive and her perspective fresh.
